You have to know your Agility, strength, and speed first. Compare with theirs. So, the one with more power points (agi, speed, str) might win (80%).

Pets could protect you in battles, and also can help you attacking. You can have Dog (Weakest), Wolf (Strong), or Bear (Strongest). Defeat the one who has the pet or just have a battle with them could make you get a pet. Depends on your lucky. It’ll increase 20% of probability you will get a pet.
